Paul J. Emery III

paulPaul founded St. Louis based Emery Entertainment as a independent promotion firm dedicated to developing long-term integrated marketing strategies for artist driven tours in the US and internationally. Paul has produced more than 3,000 shows during his career in North and South America, Europe, Australia, the Middle East and Asia.

He credits his experience in theatrical and arena productions as well as artist management for his success, noting, “I understand what goes on across both sides of the table, with the artist and the fan.”

Paul’s expertise has been a major factor in the success of such acts as “PBS Television’s Arthur’s Live Adventure,” “VeggieTales Live,” “The Magic of David Copperfield” (a world-wide tour), James Taylor, as well as Bono’s “Heart of America Tour,” which raised awareness of the African struggle with AIDS and HIV.

Paul also produced the highly successful Gaither Homecoming Concerts, which have been attracting capacity crowds at concert arenas all over North America, ranking consistently in the top 25 concert tours in the US.

He was also an integral part of “The Blue Man Group – Complex Rock Tour,” where he, while at Clear Channel Entertainment, expanded the property from theaters into rock arenas and amphitheaters and as Emery Entertainment, consulted the group on their theatrical opening in London’s New London Theatre.

Paul most recently completed a three year global tour with “The Blue Man Group – How To Be A Megastar Tour,” targeting arenas exclusively. The tour was a box office smash and successfully toured into 150 unique markets all over North America, ranking consistently in the top 10 concert tours in the US.

Originally from Chicago, Paul began his music industry career after attending Southeastern College in Lakeland, Florida. With a desire to get into the entertainment business, Paul returned to Chicago, started Harvest Productions in 1981 and produced his first concert with former Wyndham Hill artist and Glass Harp guitarist Phil Keaggy. Following the success of that show, Paul spent 10 years producing shows through Harvest Productions.

In 1991, Paul headed to Nashville to pursue the management side of the business (creating Creative Management Group), working with and developing music acts such as Island recording artists The 77’s and EMI recording artist Margaret Becker.

In 1994, veteran St. Louis based concert promoter Irv Zuckerman tapped Paul to develop new business. Paul relocated and became a part of the team at Contemporary Productions. Among the projects he developed are special holiday tours such as Amy Grant Christmas and The Young Messiah and single and multi-day topical conferences/seminars in areas of marriage enrichment, parenting and self-improvement. He also developed unique internal operations to support large touring endeavors, increasing work output and decreasing errors.

Paul remained with the company through its various transitions, after being acquired by SFX Entertainment and later, Clear Channel Entertainment where he served as Vice President, National Touring.
